We are a friendly, local society dedicated to investigating the archaeology of the Marlow area and extending our knowledge of its development and history.

We aim to share our findings with the local community to encourage interest in our joint hertitage, to help preserve it and strengthen our communal identity

Membership is open to all and previous experience is NOT necessary as training can be provided for those wanting to get more actively involved.

Documentary research

Visits to archaeological and historical sites are organised when there is sufficient interest.

  • All of our fieldwork activities are carried out in accordance with the guidelines set down by English Heritage, the Institute of Field Archaeologists and the Buckinghamshire County Archaeological Service.

  • Members also receive a twice-yearly magazine and monthly e-mail updates of the society's activities.
